Is Google getting ready to introduce Android M in 2015?

The rumor mill claims that Android’s big event for 2015 Google I/O 2015, will see the announcement of the next Android generation, dubbed Android M. M as in Marshmallow?

Android M 02

Starting on the 28th of May, at San Francisco’s Moscone West Convention Center Google and the developer’s community will begin its conference to show the world all of Google’s tools for creation. When the agenda for the event was introduced, the 28th had an event that Google referred to as “Android for Work update”, and its description spoke about how Android M will bring the power of Android everywhere.

We say it “was” there, because shortly after being introduced, the agenda was modified, and Google removed all mentions of this new Android version.

What is Android M?

Android versions are named in alphabetical order, with the last two version being K: KitKat (v4.4) y L: Lollipop (v5.0/v5.1/v5.1.1), which is codenamed M and could end up being revealed as “Muffin”, “M&M” or “Marshmallow” v6.0.

Coming back to the phrase, “Android M will bring the power of Android everywhere”, could it be that this new version will be the one that unifies all systems, and stops the fragmentation in Google’s OS? We will have to wait until the 28th to know more about it.
