New Laptops, Displays and DreamColor Calibration Kit Introduced by HP

HP expanded its DreamColor technology today at SIGGRAPH 2008 by introducing powerful mobile workstations to keep up with technology innovation and provide customers able workstations that are needed. Hewlett Packard also introduced additional high-performance displays to meet the demands of a new generation of visual computing customers.

The HP EliteBook 8730w Mobile Workstation with DreamColor Display offers professional and exceptional color accuracy and is the only mobile workstation on the market to offer a 17-inch diagonal HP DreamColor Display with over 16 million colors. In addition, this same HP EliteBook is particularly designed for the most sophisticated graphic-intensive applications.

The HP EliteBook 8530p Notebook PC, HP EliteBook 8530w Mobile Workstation and a customer calibration kit for the DreamColor LP2480zx Professional Display were also presented.

The HP DreamColor LP2480zx has a color-critical display. This 24-inch diagonal HP DreamColor liquid crystal display (LCD) provides a range of more than 1 billion colors in a 30-bit, LED-backlit widescreen display. The new 24-inch LP2475w puts 102 percent of the NTSC color gamut across 1920 x 1200 pixels, while the 22-inch LP2275w lights up 92 percent across 1680 x 1050 pixels, and both sport 1000:1 contrast ratios, extra-bright panels and adjustable stands.

The HP EliteBook 8730w Mobile Workstation is expected to be available later this month in the U.S priced at approximately $1,699, the HP EliteBook 8530 series is expected to be available in September starting at $1,499, the LP2275w is already out, and the LP247w will be available next month priced between $459 and $649.
