Japanese Underwater Digital Camera
If you’re planning on going scuba-diving, and want to save some memories of what you see underneath, then you might want to carry an underwater camera. The problem is, many underwater cameras are expensive and hard to maintain. However, Japan Trend Shop has come up with something that may make it affordable and easy to own an underwater camera.
Now, for $223 US, you can get this neat little underwater camera, and the waterproof case that it comes with. The camera is decent for its size and is pretty decent in the features it comes with. Generally, it looks like a very useful little gadget, and quality wise, it looks to work pretty well.
The camera comes in black or silver, and comes with the waterproof case. You can use it to record AVI MotionJPEG video or take JPEG pictures. It comes with a USB Lithium battery, and it has 2.5 hours of battery life on pictures, and 30 minutes on recording. It takes about 2 hours to charge the battery, weighs only about 25g, and uses SD based memory, up to 16GB. Resolution-wise, it’s not bad, again, for its size. Its photographic ability is pretty decent, with 1280x960px resolution, and video is 680x480px. It can go underwater about 22 yards before it gets to be too much pressure for the camera, which means that you can take pictures at a decent depth, but not all the way down. The camera is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, and can record mono sound, and the software is compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems.
The chobi camera is available online and comes with a bunch of extra accessories. It’s a pretty cool idea for those of you who want something small to carry and take pictures with, and it looks very cute too. You can check out a demo video below and get your own for $223.
