Shredding Guitars 101: Fender Stratocaster Guitar and Controller

With the launch of music simulation video games such as Rock Band, hope hath dawned in many a folk, musically challenged. But, the revolutionary Squier by Fender Stratocaster Guitar and Controller, may just turn us, wannabe musicians into shredding guitarists.

Fender, the name synonymous with rock ‘n’ roll, has come up with world’s first electric guitar which also doubles up as a Rock Band 3 video game controller. The sheer ingenuity of it allows us mortals to wield the very same guitar of guitar gods such as  Eric Clapton, Jimmy Hendrix, and John Mayer.

Being a full size electric guitar, it consists of a contoured wood body, 22-fret maple neck, steel strings, enclosed tuners, adjustable bridge, and custom bridge pickup. And, the advanced position-sensing fingerboard responds to touch in real-time, giving you a seamless, simultaneous, and rather satisfying on-screen feedback.

It simply elevates the rhythm gaming experience to a real musical performance through learning and playing the actual notes and chords of a song. Also, with the in-game Trainer Modes, you can learn the basic nuances of real guitar-playing enabling you to actually “play” your favorite tunes. Groovy, indeed.

So, made for musicians and gamers alike, it’s sure to rock your world, whether plugged into a guitar amp or a video game console.

Although, it’s slated for launch in March 2011, it can be pre-ordered from January. Priced at $279.99, it’s sure to burn a hole in your pocket. But, need I add, it is sometimes a pre-requisite to woo something besides the CG-generated video crowd.
