Is that a Vader in your Pocket?

Now you too can have the power of the Dark Side in your pocket.  Naturally, I couldn’t resist the phrase “Is that a Vader in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?”  Then again, I’m also tempted to substitute “light saber” for Vader, but you get the point.

What is the point?  Those folks over at EE have added a Darth Vader Talking Key Chain to their already geek-a-rific inventory.  This little black, plastic key fob may not have the imposing presence of Lord Vader, himself, but it does give you the power to utilize six iconic phrases at the touch of a button.

As you might expect, the key chain features Vader’s infamous heavy breathing, and phrases such as: “The Force is strong with this one”; “If only you knew the power of the Dark Side”; “You have failed me for the last time”; “I am your father”; “The Force is with you young Skywalker, but you are no Jedi yet”; and, “I find your lack of faith disturbing.”

Now, tell me that you can’t find a daily use for at least four of those six phrases?

Available in December of this year, you can pick up a little piece of Vader (a Vaderlet?) for $8.99.  I’d suggest pre-ordering, since this keychain will no doubt make a great trinket for holiday gift giving.  Just attach to the keys of your favorite TIE Fighter and hit the space road!

If you’re a real Star Wars fan, then you’re already aware that there is no shortage of Star Wars related swag. In fact the only thing that seems to be expanding faster than the universe is the number of doodads and thingamagigs that are Star Wars Related.  If you fall into that particular category, you might be interested in this Star Wars Clock and MP3 Dock.  Or, if you’re looking for a larger variety of Star Wars related swag, you may want to check out the 16 Coolest Star Wars Characters in Gadgets and Mods.

I do wish that they had packaged this keychain in something a little more appropriate to Lord Vader, himself, but so it goes.  Maybe they can come up with a Yoda keychain just to balance out the Light and Dark Sides.
