Chocolate Box with Arduino-Controlled Lights

Mother’s Day is coming up quick, and if you’re still wondering what to get your mom, this chocolate box LED Arduino hack might be just the thing if you’re handy with a soldering iron.

The project by Dmitriy Abaimov uses an ATTiny13, a very tiny microcontroller, along with 10 LEDS tucked into the heart-shaped Ferrero Rocher box (with apologies to Kurt Cobain) to flash lights inside the plastic. It’s a nice touch that will stand out among the flowers, chocolates and cards.

The complete instructions are found on the original post, which comes to us courtesy of Hacked Gadgets. It even included the source code so you can program the Arduino controller. You might also want to tweak the code to come up with different patterns of flashing lights.
