Game of Thrones Typograhpy House Banners

Any mid-major to major fan of the A Song of Ice and Fire (simply Game of Thrones to the masses) knows all the sigils of all the majors and probably minor houses as well, but using Typograhpy as a basis for some artistic change, you do get so surprising and refreshing results.

House Stark

The ruling house (when the story begins) in the North, the Starks words are ‘winter is coming.’ Their sigil is a direwolf racing across a field of white.

House Lannister

House Lannister of Casterly Rock. The words are ‘Hear me Roar’ and their coat of arms is a golden lion on crimson.

House Targaryen

The house that united the 7 kingdoms and is now represented by its one remaining member, Daenerys. Their sigil is a three headed dragon, and their words are ‘fire and blood.’

House Martell

The Mediterranean branch of the 7 kingdoms, House Martell rules the kingdom of Dorne. Their sigil is a spear thrust through a burning sun, and their words are ‘unbowed, unbent, unbroken.’

House Baratheon

The ruling house in Westeros when the story kicks off, but not for long. The Baratheon sigil is a crowned stag, and their words are ‘ours is the fury.’

House Arryn

The principal house in the Vale, the Arryn’s words are ‘as high as honor’, with an eagle on a white moon and sky-blue field as their sigil.

House Tyrell

The overlords of the Reach at the moment, House Tyrell’s words are ‘growing strong.’ Their sigil is a golden rose on a green field.

House Tully

The Tully’s, lords of the riverlands, have a jumping silver trout for a sigil and ‘family, duty, honor’ for their words.

House Greyjoy

The Vikings of Westeros, with a golden Kraken for their sigil and ‘we do not sow’ as their words.

House Frey

House Frey is one of the noble houses of the Riverlands, known for the two towers that lord over a river crossing. Those towers, and a bridge, also show up on their coat of arms.

House Mormont

Kinda reminds me of the logo for the Marshall Thundering Herd athletic program, but I digress. The Mormonts reside on Bear island, and a re a minor house in the grand scheme of things. Their words are ‘here we stand’ and they have a black bear roaming the woods for a sigil.
