Fans Celebrate Metroid’s 25th Anniversary with a Video

If you were a kid during the 80s or the 90s, you would still remember the nascent stage of video games and how it made you feel like you are doing something really ‘futuristic’ by playing video games.

This was way before HD or your PlayStations came in to the market. Metroid was one of the most popular games those years and was a start contrast to the more colourful and friendly Mario series. Metroid is one of Nintendo’s most successful games, and even after all these years, it continues to be one of the best selling games out there. Being a series of science fiction action-adventure video games, the Shinesparkers’  have unveiled a video that showcases what each member of the popular Metroid fan community feels about Metroid, how it changed their lives and what they wish for its future.

The video is rather long, and has a motley crew of Metroid fans expressing their happiness over their favourite game series’ 25th anniversary.

Some of the celebrities that could be seen in the video are Jeff Skalski, Gene Kohler, Tommy Tallarico, Jessica Martin, Daisuke Amaya and Yosuke Hayashi. Video Game Music Choir has given the background music and everyone seems to be happy! Metroid circles around the adventures of bounty hunter Samus Aran who protects the galaxy from marauding Space Pirates, who try to grab power from Metroids.

The video game is particularly known for its female protagonists, which was a first in the history of video games. It is also known for its nonlinear gameplay. While the fan community did their own video mash-up, what would you do to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Metroid? You could also take a look at the Metroid Prime Gunship Model, which looks pretty kick-ass. You could also take a look at the Samus Mighty Mugg, if you are a fan of Samus Aran, the bounty hunter.
