The Periodic Table is one of the geekiest of pop culture icons, and there have been a number of hilarious variations of the original drab chemical names. This one offers up a twist of (potentially offensive) profanity.

The Periodic Table of Swearing is a unique machine that comes with more than 100 brightly colored buttons, which scream out cuss words when you hit them. Some of the cuss words are regular and known, and the others are jaw-droppingly offensive and rude. Of course, this table must be used only by adults or with parental advisory and may not be safe for work.

Jon Link and Mick Bunnage, who are not only writers but also cartoonists and illustrators have partnered with Clay, which is a design and production company. The result of this partnership was the Periodic Table of Swearing which consists of 100 meters of cables, 200 soldering joints from laser-cut MDF. Initially, they pondered over using a touchscreen but ended up using a tactile board which makes it really cool.

One of the simplest joys of life is to hit a button and have it say something to you. If it utters something hilariously rude, well it just remains hilarious. After a little while, the swear words may grow on you and you may even get tired of hearing the same words. For those of us who get bored rather quickly, the Periodic Table of Swearing also comes with a sort of flash memory reader which makes it possible for you to replace the cuss words with newer ones, or whatever your wild mind would think of at that particular moment.

I guess the machine is really cool and could be a great gift to one of those juvenile geeks who like to sit by the computer all day and swear at the whole world.
