Marvel Comic Book Covers With 60/70’s DC Style

The difference between DC Comics and Marvel comics during the 1960’s and 1970’s, the transition period between the Silver Age and Bronze age of comic books? The covers.

While Marvel covers of that time usually depicted the action and conflict the superhero was going through through the issue, the DC Comics covers were more often than not unrelated to what was happening in the story of the issue, rather going for some weird character moment, involving uncharacteristic behavior or transformation. Like this one, World’s Finest:

Artist Kerry Callen decided that Marvel missed out on the trend from over 40 years ago, deciding to give some Marvel characters a remake, by putting them in the same unusual and unlikely situations on fictional comic book covers.

Spiderman

Captain America

Ghost Rider

Heroes for Hire
