The Future is Now! Nike’s Back To The Future Shoes

Park your DeLoreans over there, dear readers, the future is finally here. We loved the Back to the Future series, and protagonists Marty McFly and Doc Emmet Brown. One of the scenes we enjoyed the most was the beginning of the second movie, when a confused 1985 Marty is taken to the future by Doc to save his own children. In  order to blend in with the crowd, Marty gets his looked changed, and starts wearing the incredible self tying shoes.

These shoes kicked all amounts of ass, besides the self-tying part, because they really looked like something from the future back when the movie came out. Like, it could be a real invention and something the future had in store for us, but also, they did have a futuristic aspect to them. Well, we have some news for you. The good news is that Nike decided to finally give fans what they have long asked for, and recently introduced their Back to the Future shoes for the general public as a 1500 limited-edition pairs of glowing replica shoes.

The not-so-good news, though, it’s that these pairs price range from USD $3500 to $10,000 dollars. Ouch. At least, the money raised is going to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s disease research. Also, keep in mind that, as cool as these might look, they won’t tie themselves. Sorry, guys, we’re not just there yet, technologically speaking. Other than that, they look fantastic, and we would absolutely wear these if they weren’t such a collectible piece of memorabilia.

So, now you know what to do if you have, say, $10,000 dollars to spare. But don’t make fun of your girlfriend/wife next time she mentions how she bought a new pair of shoes that was “only a $100”.
