Superheroes, be it from Marvel or DC, Super-powered or just ambitious, are people. Some might be aliens, spider-bitten or Amazonian, but they need to eat, brush their teeth, pick their noses and pad their bras just like the rest of us.
Or at least that’s what Greg Guillemin thinks about icons like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Spider-Man.
Example A: Brushing Your Teeth and the Pick & Roll
The Batman thing makes sense. There’s nothing super about Bruce Wayne, except for being super-rich. You can be the world’s greatest detective, but an aching tooth or two will melt your brain if you don’t take care of it soon enough. What about Superman? Spending a lot of time in high altitudes means a lot of dry weather, which forces you to send some probes up your nostrils once in a while.
Example 2: Filling Your Energy Bar & Taking a Dump
It makes sense that Peter Parker would eat a lot. He burns tons of calories while thinking how to pay the rent and swinging from buildings. And Wonder Woman? Despite the myths about Amazonian women, everyone needs to take a bathroom break from time to time.
Example 3: More Dental Care & The Case of the Padded Bra
Peter Parker is just like Bruce Wayne, only with powers that don’t affect his teeth, and without the money to get good dental care. And Wonder Woman… I Knew It!!
