Build a Personal USB Fan with an Old or Broken CD Drive

Sometimes we sit in front of the laptop or desktop for so long that we forget to make sure we are also comfortable. A practical USB fan would be really nice to make our work or leisure time a little more pleasant.

Instead of spending money and purchasing one, there is a DIY project that shows you how you can make a fan using an old or broken CD or DVD drive. Other materials required are an empty CD package, USB cable, a cork, iron wire and an Antenna cable. Most of this stuff is easy to come by, and a broken CD drive would be as well.

The video below shows that this do it yourself project is fairly simple, but some soldering is required. It also illustrates how easily the fan may be adjusted because of the iron wire used.

Have fun with the project and let us know how it worked out for you.
