I Vant to Be Alone: Your Own Personal Ball of Solitude
If you are one of those people who always talks about wanting a personal bubble, here’s your chance to do so. A new bubble allows you to sit around wherever you want and not have to worry of being bothered.
Who doesn’t enjoy sitting outside, enjoying the fresh air, the chirping of the birds, or the cool breeze? However, you also have to worry about soccer balls, baseballs, and other balls about to hit you, bugs, and the distinct possibility of a bird dropping you a “little present” from hundreds of feet in the air. Not fun.
Who likes to have private space to themselves? I know that I, personally, like to employ my “personal bubble” – an area people can’t get into. However, this bubble is invisible and there are no loud alarms for when a person invades my bubble.
In both situations, what is a person to do? How about buy a clear plastic Cocoon? Touted as “Furniture You Can Live In,” this cocoon looks like a large, clear plastic bubble with modular cushions in a variety of colors inside. You can put as many or as few as you want; as long as you are comfortable in your own personal cocoon.
According to the website:
“The confined space is the bottom line when it comes to the human need for shelter, for survival against nature, for solitude among people or against people or for defining the different functions in our lives. Spaces work on all levels, rooms, houses, countries, or worlds. The spaces differs but is ever-present. Cocoon is a piece of furniture [that defines] a new space. Micasa Lab is proud to present the Cocoon 1. It is a new type of furniture that transcends the border between object and space and challenges how we perceive furniture.”
I don’t know about you, but I definitely think I could enjoy one of these. At least this time when I scream at someone to get out of my personal bubble, there is something tangible there for them to get out of.
And on a completely unrelated note, who else looked at one of these and thought about how quickly it might roll down a hill? Was it just me?
Created by Micasa Lab, the Coocon 1 can be yours for $2,990. How much is your personal space worth to you?
