I have to be completely honest for a second – when I first heard about this story, the first thing that popped into my head was Sebastian from The Little Mermaid singing “Under the Sea.” Just thought I would share that with you, because I am sure at least one of you had the same exact thing happen.
A Canadian based mother named Monika Naumann probably watched a lot of The Little Mermaid with her three daughters, as they were the inspiration for 3-Fins – a line of completely functional mermaid tails. Yes, you can swim while wearing these ones. They are available in a number of colors, including orange, blue, red, green, and fuchsia. First available on her Etsy website, they can now be ordered off of a website created just to sell these tails.
According to the website, the mermaid tails are made from high quality materials and can be used in not only pools, but also lakes and other bodies of water. They provide agility and speed in the water, much like regular flipper fins.
