In the morning, you wake up, you might yawn, stretch your muscles and perhaps, you even head to the kitchen to make a brew. And then it starts; the long laborious wait to have a dose of caffeine, made with your favourite type of coffee beans. But the time between switching the machine on, and then waiting for your cup of coffee to be made, only for it to taste bland and mediocre, can be a necessary process to get that extra morning ‘jolt’ of energy. Bonaverde Coffee Changers look to change all that, trying to make delicious coffee brewing a doddle with their all in one coffee machine, which the company have put on Kickstarter.

The selling point of Bonaverde Coffee Changers’ new machine is that other than being the only one of its kind in the entire world (according to Bonaverde), it also effectively lets you design your own cup of coffee. With a bag of beans in hand, you won’t have to shell out for a bag of the powdered, sometimes foul tasting instant stuff from the supermarket or the high priced branded bags that you can get at Starbucks as the machine will both roast and grind the beans you put into it. Using a stainless steel roaster, a small batch of beans takes around 3 to 4 minutes to roast, taking some time to cool down and resulting in the overall brew taking around 12 to 14 minutes to complete. If that seems like an awfully long time for something to be powered, then you’ll be glad to know that the same mechanism that powers the roaster also preheats the water required to make the actual cup of coffee to save energy.

With the Bonaverde Coffee Changer, you’ll also be able to decide upon the size of the grind as well as the darkness of the roast, putting the power of coffee making into your hands and not leaving it to the barista at some corporate coffee place. The machine starts shipping in October 2014 but you’ll have to put $300 down on its Kickstarter in order to guarantee yourself one.
