It’s incredibly difficult for me to remember a time when Gmail didn’t exist. I’ve been using it so loyally for so long that it’d be much akin to going back to the stone age. Still, back when Gmail came out of bets, Google was nice enough to embroider the now iconic logo onto a bunch of sweatshirts and hand them out to the team, thus the Gmail sweatshirt was born. Naturally with a bunch of Gmail employees walking around sporting these, they got a bunch of e-mails from people looking to pick up one of their own. Never one to shy away from consumer demand, Google recently added the Gmail sweatshirt to its Google products.
I’m sure this works out particularly well for Google since you are not only paying for the sweatshirt, you are also agreeing to be a walking, talking billboard for the company. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, mind you, and really at $41.75 the price pretty standard fare for sweatshirts these days. Now if you’re fuzzy on the details, allow me to enlighten you. The Gmail sweatshirt is made of flex fleece, constructed from polyester and cotton. It also has a metal zipper and a white drawcord which helps add a little more style to the piece. Of course it would be missing something if it didnt have the full color Gmail logo on it, which can be found embroidered on the left chest. Ta da!
The Gmail sweatshirt, while not quite as geeky as a Gameboy Hoodie or a Green Lantern Hoodie that comes complete with a mask, is still a quality shirt that I’d like to add to my seemingly endless collection of clothing I’ve picked up since I started reading Walyou. If money was no object I’d probably have almost every hoodie we’ve seen featured, but for now I’ll settle for being a walking Google advertisement. Then again who doesn’t love gmail? They probably don’t need the extra marketing anyway.
