Free Tools You Need To Keep Your PC In Tip-Top Shape

Every computer becomes slower and more cluttered with age. Luckily, there are 4 easy programs that you can use to help keep it feeling like new for a much longer time!

When your PC is feeling slow, you could always take advantage of those paid services to speed it up and clean up the old garbage from days past. I suggest otherwise though, and to take advantage of four free programs that do a very good job of keeping your PC clean and speedy.

CCLeaner

CCLeaner

First, let’s look at CCleaner, a free tool that optimizes your system by removing unused files from your computer, allowing Windows to run faster. It will also clean your Internet history and miscellaneous, clean your registry of unused files, and will also scan for temporary files to delete as well. Being incredibly fast, this program is a great tool to hand for any PC user to have. Check out the program by visiting the website.

WinDirStrat

Next up is not so much a PC clean-up tool, but a nifty little tool that will help you figure out what is taking up all of your system’s hard drive space. WinDirStrat “is a disk usage statistics viewer and cleanup tool for Microsoft Windows.” It really has some nifty views for users that allow them to assess their computers hard drive, as well as some very basic clean-up tools. In the picture below, you will notice different colored and sized boxes, with each different file extension being represented in a color, as well as the size of the program being represented being represented by the size of the box. Registry Mechanic

Third, we have a program called Registry Mechanic. This program is amazing at what it does, allowing users to repair old and broken registry files, as well as many useful tune-up services, such as cleaning your registry, defragmenting your registry, cleaning your disk, and also optimizing your system. It does a wonderful job of keeping your PC in check by also giving you a cool gague to assess your PC’s “System Health” and allowing you to take action, as well as letting you set a schedule if that is what you would like to do. For me, I have it scan once every two weeks, and it works wonderfully! While there is a free trial version of this program, the paid version is only $29.99 for a 1-year subscription. Rest assured though, the free version is more than enough to keep your computer in tip-top shape in a beautifully simple process!

Smart Defrag 2

Lastly, we have an amazing disk defragmenter called Smart Defrag 2. This awesome little defragmenter does a great job of optimizing your PC, featuring an automatic defrag scheduler, as well as quickly analyzing your PC before you even hit the analyze button! It does a great job of optimizing your PC to the next level as well, giving users the options to simply defrag, optimize, and deep optimize, all giving you more levels of customization. Check out the program.
