This cute thing must be the illegitimate child of Yoda and Yaddle. We need to remember that Yaddle was a distinguished member of the Jedi Council during The Phantom Menace era. Some people on Twitter have also commented that it could be a fungus, born as a result of asexual reproduction. Before we start wondering more, we need to understand that Disney has planned the character to create a merchandising opportunity.
A cute character like this one will make for a great number of product ideas and gift options. In the end, Disney will earn large amounts of revenue from merchandising and licensing. Theories have been swirling on the internet about who or what Baby Yoda could be. As far as we are concerned, this is a slick marketing strategy of Disney to get people to talk about its shows and purchase more of its dolls. Of course, fans will definitely want to do that, and it is a smart move by the company at the end of the day.
