Multi Function Emergency Tool Could Save Your Life

This Multi-Function Emergency Tool is a gadget that could possibly save your life. In fact, that’s just about what it’s designed for.  A swiss-army knife like tool this thing seems to have many of the bells and whistles that could come in handy in an emergency situation.

There are a number of different tools like this available on the market, and it seems like they all feature some of the same tools.  This particular device is crank-powered (hence not requiring batteries) and water-resistant.

So what exactly can you use this device for? Well, it depends on the situation. You can use the crank to charge your cellphone or other devices in an emergency situation. Or, if you’re like me, who often forget to charge your phone, this guy could save you a bit of time in charging things up – while simultaneously building up your arm muscles.

Other features include a crank-powered LED flashlight and a red, flashing emergency light.  If you find a need for the seatbelt cutter then this little device will definitely come in handy.  Likewise, the glass breaker could be a useful tool if you need to smash out some windows (hopefully those in your own car and not your neighbor’s).  The magnetic base will help keep the multi-function emergency tool planted to the floor of your car (if the carpet isn’t too thick), which is probably the best place to store this device, since it measures about nine inches by two inches.

The late night infomercial website ThingsYouNeverKnew.com is selling these devices for $24.99, which is a pretty small price to pay for a little peace of mind.  If you’re interested in safety products like this, you may want to take a look at the Rocsta HybridCharger, or this similar Swiss-army knife-like device for travelers, the Tripp-EE.

This seems like a pretty decent device, but I think for my money I might look into some of the other options.  I don’t anticipate having to cut my seatbelt and break the windows out of my car anytime soon.  And, if I did, I sort of wonder if I would have the presence of mind to search around in the backseat of my car for a device like this.
