Finally after all the Apple Tablet Rumors that continued to circulate and surface, the new Apple Tablet was officially announced and it is called the Apple iPad.
Some of the Apple iPad rumors were true, some were false (such as the iTouch design), but in the end…geeks really love the cat and mouse game of trying to figure out what will Apple really announce in the Tablet world. As some rumors said, the new iPad is just like an iPhone that had a rolling pin have its way with it.
So let’s get down to the nitty gritty…what is the new Apple iPad made up of?
The new iPad sports a 9.7 inch (diagonally) multitouch screen that reacts as we already seen from the iPhone. Some iPad specs include that it weighs only weighs 1.5 pounds, consists of flash storage ranging from 16-64GB and utilizes a 1 GHz Apple A4 chip. Moreover, the Internet connection is made up of 802.11 n Wi-Fi connection, Bluetooth 2.1, and also has a mic and speaker…everything we would expect from an upgraded iPhone computer.
Just like the iPhone, it reacts to the direction it is held, so it automatically adapts to either Portrait or Landscape mode. This was practically a given, after we have already seen the possibilities that Apple developed with the iPhone.
As in use, an onscreen Apple keyboard pops up, which is a bigger and more convenient version of the iPhone keyboard. As Gizmodo mentioned, when Steve Jobs was presenting and provided the typing example, he was typing as any individual would when using a real keyboard…with fingers and not his thumbs.
Props to Gizmodo which have more images and pertinent details of about the new Apple iPad.
Will you run out and to get it? Will you wait for the 2nd Generation Apple iPad? Or are you going for a Microsoft Tablet PC?
