Lock Your Door with a Digital RFID Lock

Ever been locked out of your house? Have you ever forgot your keys at a friend’s house? Ever wished that you didn’t need to take your keys with you when going out? The RFID Digital Door Lock by ThinkGeek solves the three questions above.

This lock may be installed on your door and grants you different ways to get into your home.

Just like hotels have been using a magnetic card to allow access to their room, so is this RFID lock. By sweeping a single card in front of the reader, the door will unlock. In addition, entrance may be granted using a special pin code determined by the owner.

Not having to carry our keys with us would be a great convenience.

The RFID Digital Door Lock is offered by Think Geek and comes with 4 spare digital cards to use. The site offers more information, images and the ability to make a purchase. In order to see this lock in action, check out the video below.

Hi Neece, it is great to see you again.

The PIN feature is so practical, it is great. If the keycard is similar to those in hotels, then it may be easily placed in a wallet. May not be as convenient as the PIN code, but for me it is still better then carrying my regular keys with me.

I like the idea of the PIN, so that you wouldn’t need anything but your memory. That would be convenient. But I think the keycard would be just as much hassle as having keys, in a way. Still, it’s a great direction to go in.
