iPhone 3G To Be Launched in 20 More Countries


Apple may tell you that the iPhone 3G will be launched in 50 countries by the end of 2008, but it is launching the 3G version of the iPhone in 20 more countries on August 22. Apple’s CFO, Tim Cook, said in Apple’s Q3 conference call last month that Apple was still on track to roll out the iPhone 3G in 70 countries by the end of the year. For now we have a confirmation of the 16 countries out of the promised 20 that will see the launch of iPhone 3G on August 22:

– India on Bharti Airtel and Vodafone
– Hungary on T-Mobile
– Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Peru and Uruguay on Telefonica
– Singapore on Singtel
– Poland on Orange and Era
– Romania on Orange
– The Czech Republic on O2
– Estonia on EMT
– Philippines on Globe Telecom
