Nap Anywhere On The Map With The New Sleep Box

Any frequent traveler would probably best understand what I’m trying to put forth here, this cool new architectural concept created by the Russian Arch Group could turn into a life saver for most of the frequent travelers and business men. This is your portal to a session of sound sleep in a city where an accommodation or the possibility of finding an accommodation for a night’s sleep is pretty low.

Designed to be installed at crucial points like the Airports, central public places or any place on the map where finding an accommodation  is really difficult, this  may become the quite usual scene in probably a few years.

Measuring 2mx1, 40mx2, 30m in dimensions, this may sound a bit compact but believe me there is enough space inside to fit an Elephant! The cool “Sleep Cell” ( as I would like to call it) comes custom fitted with a Bed, Linen, Proper Ventilation System, Alarm, LCD T.V, Wi-Fi, space for your laptop and rechargeable phones and finally a cupboard under the bed to store your luggage in!

The payments to rent these Sleep Cells are made at the Airport Terminal or the respective offices who then provide the client with an electronic key that can be purchased for as small as a 15 minute power nap to all the hours you need.

For other cool designs for airports and travelers besides the controversial Airport Body Scan, check out the conceptual Robot Luggage Porter or the Robotic Luggage.

Should pretty much just call them SexBoothes, as that is what they’ll end up as. It’s a cool idea and I really like the look of them, I just can’t see it working in any practical sense; plus, LCD-TV and other nick-nacks makes it sound like these would be pretty pricey to build.

@Wallygator: Even if the homeless/prostitutes cant get in there, nothings stopping Joe Blow & his girlfriend from hopping in there for a quickie.

you guys ! they are made to be use on the a’ports while you wait for your flight! you have to check in and go through security so no prostitutes nor homeless people can access them! unless you’re a homeless prostitute flying for a vacation lol
the only problem in my opinion will be keeping them clean!

They will be used by homeless and prostitutes and become nasty in no time. Is there going to be maid service?

I see a couple of problems. How long before the homeless move in? We can’t discriminate against them, that would not be politically correct. And how long before someone rents one for a nooner? Will they be changing the sheets between those nooners or will they quickly resemble old airplane upholstery (coach section)?

And you thought the airport bathroom was nasty.

People here mentioned my thought exactly.

What if people bang on the box from the outside?
What if you fall asleep and someone tries to rob you?

Also, it’s weird that Russians try to push that as an ‘invention’ when it’s a Japanese patent, and was introduced by sci-f novelists and movie makers a century ago.

This could be very useful to parents or older people that need rest; as they are having to wait for a plane, or whatever. Not, just business people.

Pretty much the capsule hotel, Yotel, Metronap idea, not bad if well maintained. Soundproofed I hope, success will depend on pricing like everything else.

Bring back train travel! You would have most of that in a sleeper, along with bathroom facilities, and sometimes a shower! You would also get hot meals in the dining car, and be able to relax and watch the countryside go by in the observation car. And there is nothing like being rocked to sleep at night on a train.
