When people watched talent shows in the 90s, there would often be performances that are so great that it was a shame that only the present audience could experience it. This is because there is a large number of unknown talent and in the 90s we didn’t have the means to have these performances shown worldwide. This notion changed when the Internet became widely used, but was enhanced with the introduction of Youtube. Now, when someone blows the audience away at a small school talent show, the world can actually see it. This, and his talent, is what brought the Youtube user Snubby to become a viral sensation.
Snubby created his own organ-like instrument made out of pipes and showcased it at his college’s talent show. Building this organ shows enough talent, but Snubby blew his audience away by successfully playing this instrument. He played a variety of songs, ranging from classical, pop and even movie and videogame soundtracks. He played the following songs in this order:
- Office Theme Song (0:18)
- Linus and Lucy (0:38)
- Turkish March (1:13)
- Mario Brothers Theme (1:27)
- In the Hall of the Mountain King (1:54)
- Bad Romance (2:07)
- Viva La Vida (2:50)
- Like a Virgin (3:03)
- Crazy Train (3:23)
- Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger (4:01)
- James Bond Theme (4:15)
- Pirates of the Caribbean Theme (4:35)
- The Final Countdown (4:56)
The entire video is a little over six minutes in length and has reached over a million views. It’s surprising that the uploader hasn’t had Google AdSense added to the video so that he can make a couple of bucks from the video as well (like most viral videos do these days). Perhaps, as a musician, he just wanted people to see his talent. In that case, he is successful.
