Google continues to make sure that great minds receive mention through their Google Doodles, and this time around, one of the greatest Sci-Fi minds, Jules Verne, receives an interactive Birthday tribute.
Jules Gabriel Verne was a Geek of the old days and presented so in some of the greatest novels that have ever surfaced, such as Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, A Journey to the Center of the Earth, Around the World in Eighty Days and more. He has told stories that involved Space, Air and Underwater and could also be seen as somewhat to inspire some of the beautiful Steampunk art we have seen gain popularity.
On the anniversary of his birthday, February 8th, Google has provided tribute on their home page, where the Google Doodle has been designed with Jules Verne in mind. The design itself, color and theme deals with his world, and with added interactivity, it lets fans continue to explore. With either the mouse or arrow buttons, a Sci Fi geek can control the view of the doodle, further exploring the world under the sea.
This is a wonderful new temporary logo that besides the H.G Wells doodle, makes sure Science Fiction receives its due credit for inspiration, talent and performance.
