Samsung is delivering another game-changing smartphone, the Infuse 4G, which will run Android 2.2 Froyo and pack 4G speeds.
The device will be coming to AT&T on May 15th, and the carrier is calling it “the supermodel of smartphones” and “the thinnest device” available on the market. In fact, the Infuse 4G will come with a version of the “Angry Birds” game special to the Infuse.
Its internals are spectacular, which include a 1.2 GHz processor and 4G speeds (4G: HSDPA CAT 14 and HSUPA CAT 6). It’s expected to come in various models ranging from about 9mm to 9.25mm thick.
The centerpiece is a 4.5″ Super AMOLED screen, which is the largest screen found on a device by Samsung. The Super AMOLED technology is said to offer premier colors and perfect contrasts, regardless of lighting.
On the back of the handset rests an 8 MP camera with autofocus and flash that can take HD video (720p) and offers HDMI playback so users can view the videos on their TV sets or larger screens. The Infuse 4G also has a 1.3MP front-facing camera for video chatting and self portraits.
Other features include a specialized virtual QWERTY keyboard, a pre-set 2GB microSD card with preloaded trailers for upcoming summer movies, expandable memory up to 32GB with a microSD card, and text, picture and video messaging support.
The Infuse 4G comes with a US$25 credit for movies on the Samsung Media Hub available for the first 500,000 devices. Owners will be able to share the content among five Media Hub-enabled devices on the same account.
AT&T has also prepared 14 accessories for the Infuse 4G. These include several high quality cases, a vehicle mount and a desk mount.
