iPhone 5 has been widely expected for a couple of weeks now and it looks like the device will finally arrive and Sprint could be one of the few carriers to sell the iPhone 5.
Apart from helping Sprint to ward off aggressive competition from both AT&T and Verizon, the company stands to gain a niche market that is specifically loyal to iOS. iPhone 5 is expected to be sold by Verizon, AT&T and Sprint as well in mid-October and will feature a better design, thinner and slimmer form factor and a better digitalized camera. Sometime around the same week, iOS 5 would be launched as well with the iPhone 5 running on it. It is also possible that Apple might announce iPad 3.
Another interesting bit of news is that alongside iPhone 5, Apple would also announce a cheaper version of iPhone 4. This could be a move by Apple to attract people who may not be able to spend the high price tag at which the iPhone would come. It is not clear how much it might cost, but we must remember that the iPhone 4 was priced around $650. iPhone 5 with iOS5, better digitalized camera, thinner and sleeker form factor and a better hardware might surely come with a higher price tag.
Nevertheless, the next couple of weeks shall see a lot of developments in the Apple world, and that could be one of the reasons why Google is already brandishing 18 patents which it may use against Apple. With other Smartphones almost losing the battle, iOS 5 and Android will fight it out in the next few months until something magical happens. Meanwhile, Apple Insider suggested that the company has already begun working on a massive ad campaign for iPhone 5, and work related to the ad campaign shall not finish until October.
