The year 2013 opened up with a galactic bang with Rovio’s release of the Angry Birds Star Wars game. After millions of downloads and record-breaking reviews, Angry Birds Star Wars may soon be conquering toy stores, too, with the launch of their line of board games coming this Fall 2013.
Hasbro proudly announced during the Toy Fair 2013 in New York that they will be releasing a series of Star Wars Angry Birds board games before the Christmas Holidays. According to sources, parents and Angry Birds fans alike should brace themselves as these toy sets might sell faster than warp speed. Plus, as an added bonus, with every purchase of Star Wars Angry Birds toys, you get special product codes to unlock in-app features in the mobile game.
Among the exciting board games the family can enjoy include the Angry Birds Tie Fighter Battle Game, which is also inspired by the Jenga blocks series. With this set, you can build your own piggy tie fighter, and watch it fall to pieces as you launch your Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and R2 D2 Angry Birds. The suggested retail price for this set is $24.99, and is ideal for kids ages 8 and up.
Another awesome addition to the Hasbro toy series is the Angry Birds Rise of Darth Vader Game, also carrying the Jenga label. Set up your blocks and build a replica of Darth Vader’s helmet and mask, and launch your Yoda, Obi Wan, and Luke Angry Birds at the dreaded Sith Lords. Retail price for this board game is $29.99, also for kids 8 and up.
Lastly, check out the Angry Birds Star Wars Star Destroyer Battle Game, with a triple light saber launcher and 12 special Angry Birds mini figures featuring your favorite galactic heroes and bad guys. This set retails for about $39.99, and can be for children ages 5 and up.
