The market for tablets has shrunk quite a bit. This is largely due to the release of larger sized smartphones which offer pretty much everything that tablets offer with many added functionalities. But manufacturers are not showing any signs of backing down. Last year we saw some of the best tablets being released and so far it seems that things will be more or less the same in 2017 too. So if you’re planning on buying a tablet, check out our Best 2017 Android Tablets you can get right now.
Lenovo Yoga Tab 3
The Yoga series from Lenovo is extremely well designed. I love how convenient its design is and it is very useful for different situations. Under the hood, you have the new Snapdragon 652 SoC along with a modest 3 gigs of RAM. The 10.1-inch screen is great for viewing movies and it’s sharp and crisp. The QHD resolution certainly helps. It is a great tablet for entertainment and comes with four JBL speakers and a rotating camera. This is by far the best Android tablet for entertainment.
NVIDIA Shield K1
Nvidia only has a small lineup of tablets but they excel in GPU intensive tasks. Unlike other tablets which come with Exynos, Qualcomm or Intel chipsets, Nvidia’s Shield K1 comes with their in-house Tegra K1 processor that comes with a whopping 192-core Kepler GPU. There is nothing that this beast can’t handle when it comes to GPU intensive processes, be it gaming, photo editing or any other task. If gaming is your primary concern, this is the best Android tablet for you.
Huawei MediaPad M3
Huawei MediaPad M3 was unveiled sometime back and it is definitely one of the best tablets that you can buy right now. You may ask me why? For $300, you get an 8.4-inch tablet that sports a stunning resolution of 2560×1600 pixels, 8MP front and rear cameras, HiSilicon Kirin 950 SoC, 4 gigs of RAM, audio tuned by Harman/Kardon and specially engineered earphones from AKG. Do I have to give more reasons to go for this one?
Samsung Galaxy Tab S2
This might well be the best tablet from Samsung for now. There is the Tab S3 that is coming up in a few weeks which is even better, but for now, let’s just stick to the Tab S2. The Galaxy Tab S2 is powered by an Exynos chipset, but there is a newer version with a Qualcomm chipset. The 8-inch Super AMOLED display sports a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels. To go with it are 3 gigs of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage, which can be further expanded. It is one of the best android tablets that you can get from Samsung.
Google Pixel C
Pixel C tablet was launched way before the Pixel phones. But they have one thing in common. They are great performers and are slightly expensive. It is a great alternative to the iPad Pro. There is a large 10.1-inch LTPS LCD display that sports a humongous resolution of 2560×1800 pixels. You also get 3GB of ultra-fast LPDDR4 RAM and an awesome 64GB of SSD storage. The built quality is top notch and the compact aluminum body will sweep you off of your feet.
Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet
This might be the one tablet that you’ve never heard of. Sony has just regained some composure after the release of their flagship phones but it is more or less a bad time for them. HTC were in a similar situation, but they’ve gained some much-needed profits after the launch of HTC 10. The Xperia Z4 tablet is a monster on paper and it is slightly expensive at almost $600. There are quite a lot of feature that justifies this price tag. For starters, it comes with a 10-inch 2K display. The Z4 tablet also comes with water and dust resistance. But the best thing that I liked about it is the ability to play your PS4 games on it. Yes, you heard that right. You can use your local Wi-Fi to play your PS4 games away from your TV. If you’re not concerned about spending a bit more for a premium option, the Z4 tablet is highly recommended.
Asus ZenPad 3S 10
When I mentioned that the Z4 tablet was overpriced, I wasn’t kidding. The ZenPad 3S 10 comes with a 9.7-inch 2K display along with 4 gigs of RAM and a hexacore MediaTek chipset. The standout feature of the ZenPad 3S 10 is its design and build quality. Made completely out of metal, this tablet sure is eye-catchy. No, it isn’t flashy, but classy. It weighs only 0.95lbs and is super thin at just 0.23-inches. Now that is the epitome of premium build quality and class.
