Bridgestone Corp developed an airless tire that should eliminate the risk of flats. This new technology will make its first apperiance at the Tokyo motor show 2011 from Dec 3 to 11 in Tokyo.
The company plans to use this new technology on passenger vehicles, you’ll never have to worry about a flat tire again. For now the company said that the tire, whose tread rubber is 100% recyclable, can offer comfort and performance suitable for golf buggies and similar vehicles but the plan is to develop the product further in order to bring it to the automotive tire market , also they are aiming to enhance the performance of the tire and commercialize it as a low maintenance costs tire.
