As I’ve said before, I am not a huge steampunk fan. I like the look of some of the creations, but I am not the type that will actively seek it out. However, I am a total nerd for Marvel Comics, so when I saw this Iron Man steampunk wall art, I went a bit fan-girl.
The artist, Paul McCue, creates sculptures, wall art, and paintings that would absolutely capture any nerd’s heart. After looking around his etsy store, I decided to head over to his blog and see what else he could create. Ladies and gentlemen, I am in love.
McCue creates stunning replicas of helmets from some of the best science fiction movies and tv shows. For Doctor Who fans, McCue has a Cyberman sculpture or, if you cannot afford the $200 price tag, an 8×8 stretched canvas print of his work.
But the real jewels of his collection are his Boba Fett helmets, which he offers in “Battle Bashed”, “Bronze and Cooper”, “Black Metal”, “Rusted” and “Battle Damaged”. The 8”x8” canvas prints cost $35, which includes shipping to North America, but can be customized to fit any size you desire.
If you are unsure as to whether or not one of McCue’s creations is right for your home, his website has an “Envision It” option, which allows you to find the perfect place in your home for your newly acquired steampunk helmet. All you have to do is email a picture of the room in which you are considering hanging your item, and the name of the item you are considering purchasing, and they will send you a picture with the item superimposed in your room so you can get a feel for the scale and color.
Now there’s no reason for you not to display your glorious nerdiness for all to see.
