Rather than heat your butter in the microwave or with a hairdryer to get it to the point of perfection for spreading, why not use a heated knife? It’s a better idea than spreading a cold lump of butter on a piece of toast.Research has shown that up there with cold tea and burnt toast, one of the biggest breakfast pet peeves many men and women deal with is trying to spread cold butter on a piece of bread. If any of you have ever tried it, you know how it does not spread right and tends to tear up the bread, leaving you with a holey mess that cannot stand up to anything else you may want to smear or pile on it. But that is okay because now a couple of designers in the UK are believed to have solved this problem with the creation of the electric heated butter knife.
Be sure to make room in your kitchen chachkas drawer (we all have one) for a butter knife that heats up to 41.8 degrees Celsius (107.24 degrees Fahrenheit). Created by Warburtons, this knife is powered by two AA batteries that fit right into the handle. When the knife is activated by a button, it becomes heated and easily cuts through butter and smears it on smoothly without murdering your piece of bread.
The idea for this knife came about after a survey taken by researchers with Warbutons and found out the heated butter knife was the most sought after breakfast innovation people were waiting to have designed. Stuart Jones from Warbutons noted that, “We’ve fine tuned the knife’s specifications to ensure the speediest heat-up and perfect temeprature for spreading and we’re thrilled with how well it works.”
Even if your butter is straight from the fridge, a preheated electric butter knife is all you need to slice right through!
