Combine a probable online gaming addiction and a fascination for full body tattoos, and you might just get an extraordinary work of art. A tattoo depicting a frightening scene: Farm animals taking their revenge.
Honestly speaking, I have no idea if this person played so much FarmVille that it messed with his brain, or whether he just really loves Animal Farm, but his tattoo is unique, if nothing else.
I have been meaning to get a tattoo for some time now, and my biggest concern is getting something that no one else has. Not just some generic design you pick off a tattoo artist’s wall; something actually unique. Something that truly reflects my personality. I don’t know the person in the image, and I cannot testify to his personality traits, behavioural patterns or likes and dislikes; however, it is clear to see that he passed the little obstacle I’m still faced with.
A closer look will reveal some interesting scenes depicted on his back. It is kind of disturbing to note the details so colorfully displayed, from the little chick picking worms from the corpse (who is still wearing a shirt, by the way) to the hen feasting on the farmer’s eyes and the cow’s dripping with blood… I’m not sure if the fence is strewn with pieces of flesh, but the animals remembered to set the barn alight.
In my personal opinion, this tattoo is about more than just farm animals going crazy and turning on the farmer. It is about society, and how each person plays their own little role in the bigger picture. Just think back to your literary class in school, and Animal Farm. In the end, the sad truth is that the oppressed (in this case the pigs, representing the leaders of a revolution) usually become just as oppressive to the masses as “the farmer.”
Or, the tattoo might simply depict farm animals going crazy, and nothing more. At the end of the day, I take my hat off to the guy who had a vision and saw it through. Who didn’t stand back, who made the ultimate decision when it came to deciding what to ink. Remember, all are equal, but some are more equal than others… Well played, dude.
On a lighter note, the tattoo enthusiasts out there would no doubt enjoy truly unique (and a tad bit nerdy) designs featured in 23 Geekiest Comic Book Tattoos as well as the Tale of Alice, as depicted in Alice In Wonderland: A Tattoo Story.
