Final Fantasy VII is the game every other JRPG gets compared to, a true classic, and as such, gets a lot of love and tributes but also jokes poked at it.
Back in the day, in the long distant age of 1997, when Final Fantasy VII came out, voice acting wasn’t as common as it is nowadays. So, whenever we saw the name of a spell or character we sort of had to guess what was the proper way to pronounce it. Luckily, there was always the option to rename them if any of them got obnoxious.
