2012 is slated to be a huge year for the mobile phone industry as tons of exciting developments are being created and new phones are being released. However, nothing has been spinning the rumor mill more lately than the Galaxy S3 from Samsung.
As the weeks start passing, the anticipation surrounding the next flagship smartphone from South Korean electronics giant, Samsung, continues to grow. And it is only getting larger and larger. There are numerous ways to quantify exactly how much anticipation and excitement is associated with the release of the new Galaxy S3, and one of the best is to look at all the rumors being published, something for which there is no real shortage, thanks to a number of websites dedicated to posting rumors about the Galaxy S3.
While we do not really have to go in to the quad-core processor being speculated, there are a variety of hardware speculations flying around the internet. Many rumor sites are in agreement that the new phone will have two gigs of RAM and an internal memory of anywhere between 16 and 32 GB. It is also said that the Galaxy S3 will be able to support up to 64 GB with the use of a MicroSD card. The phone should have the latest designs in terms of Gorilla Glass and will have a 4.7 inch screen that will display 720P resolution. However, there are also rumors that it may display 1080P resolution. It is also said to use the new OLED design, which utilizes much less power and provide much more vibrant colors as compared to LED screens.
But what about the release date? There was speculation regarding a February release date, April release date, and May release date. Obviously since February has passed and April is just about over, it is looking like May may be the month the phone is slated for release. And according to an image that leaked on the internet that listed the date of the release. The picture below does not look important until you look closely at the screen and there is some revealing text reading “Watch a Live Broadcast on the Galaxy S III Unpacked Event” and the calendar date next to it – May 22.
Other rumors floating around include changing the name of the phone to the Galaxy M, making it completely water resistant (I don’t know about you but that would greatly help me out), the use of AMOLED technology, Exynos processor installed inside, and a 12 megapixel camera. We won’t know which of these rumors are true, and which ones fabricated until its release date.
If the Samsung Galaxy S3 has just a few of these items mentioned, it will be very exciting for fans of this brand of phone. It does have a lot to live up to as the Galaxy s2 is highly regarded as one of the best smartphones created in 2011. The question is what are you hoping to see on the new Samsung Galaxy S3?
