If you are a music connoisseur and love playing instruments that are somewhat different from the usual, run-of-the-mill stuff, try procuring a Pilcrow for yourself.
Pilcrow is a new kind of musical instrument, which was designed and made by Henrik Amberla in Köln International School of Design (KISD) during his one-year stay in Cologne. Pilcrow was the subject of Henrick’s bachelor’s thesis for TaiK.
The ability of Pilcrow to blend elements from string, percussion instruments and idiophones has made it a top draw for many music enthusiasts. A steel rod performs as the key of this instrument, and you can play it either by hitting or plucking. If you move the key up and down the saddle, you would be able to adjust the pitch without any problem.
Pilcrow is compatible with all standard wires, plugs, effects and amplifying devices. Thanks to its shape that’s largely driven by the fact to offer comfort of its players, you can play this musical instrument in a very relaxed and comfortable position. So, what are you waiting for? Get your own Pilcrow today!
Another cool project by Kenrik we previously saw was the Milky Way clock, which is just as innovative.
