Sleeping Beauty’s Maleficent Attacks In Bust Form

Leave your prejudices at the door: papier-maché can also be badass, hardcore and evil. Trust us, or Maleficent is gonna see that you regret it.

The Paper Mache Blog has a dragon specialist (what a title, cool overload) whose name is Dan, he was commissioned to create a bust of the creature seen in Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent. This included every conceivable detail, a full neck, tongue, and glowing eyes included.

As Dan himself explains, “[he] wanted to make the dragon that the cartoon would be based upon. But [he] couldn’t improvise very much without straying too far from the original drawings. And the lights were even a bigger challenge. Obviously [he] couldn’t get lights that would blast out of the mouth, eyes, and nose exactly like the cartoon. And the dragon had to look decent when the lights were turned off.” Well, damn, that’s an awful lot of things to consider. Still, we’d say the finished job looks fantastic. How about you, what do you think?
