If you feel the need to shred on your skateboard and you’re a “Star Wars” geek, you should check out a skate park in Durham, U.K. that has a cool theme with many your favorite characters, though minus Jar-Jar, to the relief of everyone.
This cool skate park was painted by somebody going by the name of Creative Ginger on Flickr, with a little help from his friends.
Here’s a bonus time-lapse video of the murals being painted:
Lots of familiar faces are painted on the side of the park’s ramps: Darth Maul, C-3PO, R2-D2, Boba Fett, Anakin Skywalker, Count Dooku, Jabba the Hut, Obi-Wan, and even Ahsoka from the “Clone Wars” series. The style is very cool and very stylized, much different from the usual graffiti-style art you see in these kinds of projects. Either this is an officially sanctioned art project or this skate park has the world’s worst security. It’s enough to make even a person who preferred skating on rollerblades in the ’90s to skateboards to want to hop a plane across the pond to see this in person.
If you like this, you’ll definitely want to check out our post on some art prints of “Star Wars” droids feeling human emotions. If you prefer your wheels powered by gasoline, you’ll definitely be interested in this groovy “Star Wars” van.
