Thanks to the Ghostbusters Cake, every geek and purveyor of cheesy eighties flicks can have their cake and eat it too! Paying homage to the supernatural comedy of the same name, the cake looks absolutely delicious and we for one are thankful, that the baker did not opt for something disgusting like the Slimer cake.
The Ghostbusters Cake is epic on many counts and the fact that it uses the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man as the center piece, makes it even more superior to any other renditions out there. Oh and how can we miss the uber-cool detail of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man being zapped with proton stream accelerators by all the four Ghostbusters (come on, he had it coming)?
For the uninitiated (and by that we mean who are unfamiliar with this classic flick), the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man was the fictional mascot from the Ghostbusters franchise and in the 1984 movie it becomes the physical manifestation of the Sumerian demonic deity Gozer.
This delicious looking cake has been created by flickr user ‘Poppet with a camera’ for a friend and more power to her for using classic ‘The Real Ghostbusters’ action figures in the decoration. The cake is awesomely built no doubt, and from the pictures it looks like it is oozing of all kinds of epicurean goodness. Made primary of marshmallows (it also bleeds marshmallow fluff), the cake might or might not have been baked (frankly, we don’t care), but that doesn’t mean that we don’t want to grab a spoon and dig into its gooeyness.
