With the very recent re-hash of the popular movie, Tron themed toys (for kids of all ages) have been released and heavily marketed. One of these gadgets, the Tron Light Disc Audio Dock, has been pretty popular at the CES 2011.
This is probably a fan favourite. The light disc audio dock is really beautifully designed and inspired by the movie, and features four 1.5″ Drivers and one 3.5″ Long-Throw Woofer, meaning that whatever you plug into it, you’re bound to get a beautiful quality sound.
In terms of the Tron light-theme, the dock has over 80 individually controlled LEDs set in dual lighting pipes for an energy efficient experience. The device is compatible with anything that has a 3.5mm Stereo output jack, but works best with the Monster Tron App for the iPhone and iPod Touch. If you don’t have either of those, you can always opt to use the auxiliary 3.5mm stereo plug that it comes with to hook it up to anything else.
The price listed on the Monster website is a lovely looking $300 USD, but if it does what it says, it might be worthwhile.
