The hottest Twitter app on iPhone just got hotter. No it is not due to the recently published data about the climate which said the April month was hottest on the planet earth ever recorded, but the case here is that Twitter has braced the app itself and consequently, Tweetie will be called and known as Twitter. Simple.
If you are still wondering how come that be, might be you missed the recent news about the purchase of Tweetie by the Twitter from its creator (previous owner now), Loren Bricther.
Those of you hanging in to find out what’s new, there is not very much apart from the new name and handful of features listed below. Have a look:
- Now use the app without signing in. Cool isn’t it? Take a spy-ish peek
- Sign up enabled, with full suggestion list of users
- Customizations in ‘More’ tab
- Regular actions brought to main bar
- Top Tweets included in search results
- Version 3.0, of course
Some of the features are pretty cool and there was really not much scope given the fact that the earlier version of Tweetie 2.1 was full of features usually needed not to forget about the addition of recently popular features for mobile, called twitter lists. Moreover Tweetie was available for free, so there was no scope in pricing too!
No doubt, there are plenty of other twitter apps available for iPhone and the developers of these apps will take a heat from the above acquisition except Mr Loren Blichter (previous owner of Tweetie) who by all estimates have surely made a good fortune selling the hottest app on iPhone for Twitter.
And as you may have noticed, the recent developments in the form of Official Twitter Android app, release of Twitter app on Bleckberry and now the official iPhone twitter app, it emphasizes the commitment of the guys at Twitter towards customer care and now we have Official support from Twitter for the three major smartphone platforms. Isn’t that really nice? Is somebody missing Nokia?
What’s more? Entertain yourself with Twitter Bird Cuckoo Clock which will display your tweets on the message board, and you would also like the Titter Chocolate cake, yummy. And in case you are a tech freak like me, have a gaze at those twitter and facebook mousepads.
