Spirits must be high for Apple iPhone and iPad fans, for the iPhone DevTem has just released the Spirit Jailbreak for the first iPad and the recently released iPad 3G. Moreover, this is also an iPhone 3.1.3 Jailbreak. Even better, this is an untethered jailbreak, so previous iPhone Blackra1n Jailbreak will be extremely happy.

the iPad and iPhone Spirit Jailbreak was just recently released, so minor bumps were noted to happen on the iPad.
this is NOT a carrier Jailbreak for the iPhone.
make sure to back up the SHSH blobs. This is in case you accidentally upgrade your firmware and will need to restore to an older version to both have a jailbreak and a functional Apple Gadget.

How To Jailbreak iPad, iPad 3G, and iPhone 3.1.3:
1. Backup SHSH Blobs using either Firmware Umbrella for a local copy or Saurik’s Server. It is recommended to use Firmware Umbrella for iPad 3G.
2. iTunes 9 must be installed.
3. Download the Spirit Jailbreak from Spirit.
4. Run Spirit in Compatibility Mode for either Windows Vista or Windows 7: 98/Windows ME Compatibility.
4.5 This is either Spirit.exe or Spirit.app
5. Jailbreak iPad or the iPhone.
6. Done!
