While there hasn’t been any announcement from EA regarding the next installment in the Battlefield franchise, there’s a rumor spreading around that Battlefield 5 will be set in Japan.
How did people get to that? A reddit user known as Anarkipt found the alleged name of the next Battlefield game by going through IMDB. He was going through Steve Jablonsky’s page, a composer of film, television and also video games, including Metal Gear Solid, Gears of War, Transformers and The Sims 3.
On Jablonsky’s page waited an interesting little nugget of data: His upcoming projects include Battlefield 5: Armageddon. It included a small synopsis of the game: This game is about a small town soldier who is in battle for japan. He must fight to get home to his family and friends.
This might be just something to lead fans on, as the synopsis is with grammatical errors and not from any official game page. Right now, with no official news of release or even the company working on the game, these kind of rumors are as good as it gets for Battlefield fans, who have been without a release in the main series of the franchise since October 2013, when Battlefield 4 came out and did extremely well, although it faces criticism for plenty of major technical bugs, glitches and crashes across all platforms.
