I know what you’re thinking: I’ve seen a ton of computer case mods already. I agree with you, everyone seems to enjoy squishing their computer bits into ridiculous (and often small) spaces in order to pull off a badass (or maybe just quirky) look. This N64 Mac Case mod, however, is awesomely unique in a lot of ways.
First of all, this isn’t just some PC, the guy decided to stuff it into an old N64 case. This is actually an OS X with a 30GB SSD, so it has some serious power behind the little case. To put some extra icing on the cake, it was also intended to be a fanless design, so it runs real quiet like.
The modder, named “Polvorito,” looks to have accomplished most of his goals except for one: It looks like the fanless thing didn’t fan out. The Intel Atom N330 CPU kept overheating. He did, however, manage to squeeze all of the necessary outputs into a tiny little space, as you can see from the pictures. I can’t imagine it was that easy to get all the outputs into that configuration, but then that’s why this modder is undertaking it and not myself.
If you’re looking for some other fun case mods, we’ve featured a slew of them here on Walyou. I mean I for one never would have thought to turn a computer case into a V8 engine, but there you have it. I wonder how often you have to change the oil on that thing? I’d be afraid it would rev up and fly right off my desk if I wasn’t careful enough not to over hear it. If you’d prefer to stick with a Macintosh theme, I can point you in the direction of 17 Cool Mac Mods for Apple Geeks. Keep those “Hackintoshes” coming.
