That spare 727 you have in your garage can now get a new life. How, do you ask? Well, as a hotel room like in Hotel Costa Verde, obviously.
If you happen to be a distraught Lost fan who really misses the show and wanted to experience what Kate, Jack, Sawyer and/or Locke went through, we have news. There is a hotel in Costa Rica called Costa Verde that turned the remains of a Boeing 727 jet into a luxury hotel room that goes from 250 to 500 dollars for a night, depending on the season.
Back in the day, this Boeing 727 from 1965 flew for South Africa Air and Avianca Airlines (Colombia). Those days, people could smoke inside the planes, and drink liquor all trip long which was considered acceptable.
The hotel decided to salvage this airplane, and moved it piece by piece from the Juan Santamaría International Airport in San Jose to the depths of the Manuel Antonio jungle.
Once placed there, the fuselage was restored and remade into one of the most unique hotel rooms in the world. Literally, a jumbo hotel suite.
