Apple Reveal New $229 iPod Touch

Think just about every iteration of iPod has been released by Apple? Think again as the company are releasing a brand new iPod Touch at a cheaper price.

If there’s one surefire way to make money off of your cult-like fanbase and the plethora of products in your inventory that include just about every available level of storage, every lusted after feature and a range of colours that are a few pigments shy of the entire rainbow, it’s to release plenty of what you got. It’s been an oft heard criticism of Apple, who like to flood the market with version after version of their various i-gadgets, but they have no plans to slow down, having just announced a new version of their popular iPod Touch.

Capturing the mid-range of space requirements, the new iPod Touch packs 16GB, too small for the music and storage junkies (the pricier options of a 32 or 64 gigabyte iPod Touch is still available) but big enough for the average music lover to enjoy tunes on the go. That 16GB worth of space can be used for such things as the various downloadable App Store apps, all of which which look gloriously pretty on the new iPod Touch’s 4-inch Retina HD screen.

One thing that you won’t be able to store on that 16GB is such self-taken eye-blisteringly attractive photos and videos that we’ve come to know and love from the new iPod Touch’s brother and sister iterations. This is because for this model of their media player, they’ve chosen to feature just one camera on the front, the FaceTime HD camera, while the 5 megapixel camera previously seen on the rear of other models has been scrapped.

Other issues too are that that the new iPod only comes in silver, however considering that it too packs the dual-core A5 processing power seen in the other versions of iPod for the relatively tiny price of $229, it’s a small sacrifice.

In any case, it’s available directly from the Apple website now.
