Christmas in July: The Nightmare Before Christmas Jenga Game

I’m not entirely sure why, but The Nightmare Before Christmas has become a bit of a tradition in our family. Every year around Christmas time we watch the movie while wrapping gifts or hanging out around the Christmas Tree, and this Nightmare Before Christmas Jenga game would compliment that tradition very well, even if the holiday season is still a ways off.

The mechanics of the game itself remain unchanged, you just take out pieces one by one until someone finally makes a mistake and the whole thing comes crashing down. The Nightmare theme goes from the game packaging to the pieces themselves with a coffin-shaped game box and 54 custom orange, purple, and black Jenga pieces. Naturally, you’ll see your favorite characters from the movie adorned along each Jenga piece, which will make it more novel when choosing a piece to pull out during the game. Come on Jack, we can do this, don’t fail me now! Followed of course by immediate crashing sounds.

At $19.99 it is almost worth ignoring the fact that the game is really a marketing gimmick milking the popular movie for all of its worth. If you’re a fan, there’s no shortage of Nightmare Before Christmas gadgets that are available. I’m even thinking of making my brother’s son a Jack Skellington lego piece myself come next Christmas. Judging by the plethora of choking hazard labels all over Amazon’s site, I think I’ll have to wait a few years before I can whip his youngest’s butt in Jenga.

If you want other Jenga themes, then take a look at the Donkey Kong Jenga or the Transformers Jenga Game.
