Over one thousand students took part in a study between the correlation of grades and social media usage.

Social media, while often considered a distraction, can actually be used to benefit students. They can independently form study groups, arrange for more convient online meetings, have a plethora of resources available to them on the web and more.

Heavy social media users actually had a better chance of getting higher grades in school. Now, this isn’t just playing poker on Facebook, but actually utilizing the networking and researching features of various new media sites.

Instructors can also integrate these tools to their advantage in class. This would not only make teaching more interesting and interactive, but it also enables their students to gain skills useful in just about any field for their future careers.
