Apple Planning March 7 iPad 3 Event

Make a date and let the speculation finally be laid to rest. Apple is firmly set to reveal the iPad 3 next week.

When Apple sent out invites for a 10:00 am Wednesday, March 7 event to be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, they didn’t shy away one bit from what would be the headlining act. See that super spoiler-ish event flyer that was sent out to the press front loading this article? Well if that doesn’t give away that the company will be showing off the iPad 3 – then I don’t even.

That said, exactly what could we expect “spec wise” for Apple’s latest tablet? The scuttlebutt over the past few months has been overwhelming when it comes to this regard – as they tend to be with all Apple products. If I were a betting man, the first new feature I would put my gut on seeing would be a new higher-resolution screen, possibly a version of the iPhone 4’s retina display.

Second to that would definitely be a bump in processor speed. The latest and greatest when it comes to internals? Maybe. There already has been floating around the web a rumored photo of the iPad 3’s logic board, which has a ‘A5X’ chip planted in bright daylight. This could mean that we might see a significant boost in processing power, but I guess we’ll have to see when the true specs become known.

A couple of other loose bits like Siri integration, 4G/LTE service from either AT&T or Verizon, and perhaps a slightly modified outer appearance to the iPad 3 have also been rumored. When it comes to Apple – a repeat offender for pulling out the wildcard – anything is remotely possible. Best to stay tuned for the Apple iPad 3 event then, just in case they don’t surprise us with a personal jet-pack option (that’s my long-shot bet.)

Walyou will have the full March 7 announcement on watch, with price, those all-too-important specs, and what else you need to know. Till then, keep yourself occupied with the 14 must-have Skyrim mods and this Doctor Who’ TARDIS box crafted out of beautiful glass.
